Panama City, Panama was a lovely and friendly place to visit at the end of May. May is considered the rainy season and although we did experience some rain it never lasted for long periods of time. The country was very green and lustrous. Panama has a lot of rich culture and delicious seafood food offerings. Panama City itself is full with colonial buildings, community, and lots of diversity. We stayed in a more secluded area, but took a tour to Viejo Panama and learned the history that surrounds the city's current location and why it was moved. Although English is spoken the city Spanish is the country's first language, so pull out those high school Spanish class lessons and brush up because they will serve you well when it comes to bargaining for those many beautiful souvenirs you will want to pick up. I would definitely return to Panama again.

This property is 2 hours from the major airport PTY and is unlike any other RIU Hotels property. Good points: Kid Friendly, Clean, Nice Staff, Buffet line was always the good choice, non-alcoholic drinks, very affordable for college aged students or large family vacations.
Bad points: Very low end as far as All Inclusive Resorts go, too far from downtown, no adult activities, pool closes at 6 pm, bottom shelf alcohol, Buffet line was best choice, food availability is NOT 24/7, had to ask for face towels, limited gym equipment, SPA is a little gazebo by the pool, can NOT enjoy the beach after sunset, No DJ at Adults pool, entertainment was more geared for children, and there was NO Activities Manager engagement to get people to attend or highlight the entertainment for either demographic. Final Rating: This property is listed as a 5 star, but it barely make it to a 2 star on my list based on my other experiences. |
